Successfully marketing local produce - Flintshire

Project Area: Agri-food and Forestry
County: Flintshire

Project Officer: Lowri Williams
Axis: 4

This activity is all about promoting and supporting local food and the people who make it, and is designed to help innovative projects not covered by other grant schemes in rural Flintshire and Denbighshire.

Building on recent work with producers from across the region, this activity is about encouraging a co-operative approach to things like packaging, marketing and selling; promoting the use of local food in the hospitality sector; and boosting local supply chains.

Help available includes support for co-operative ventures and social enterprises, help with produce sourcing and towards becoming more sustainable - as well as for things like feasibility studies, business planning and consultancy.

Eligible projects could include setting up a local food hub and distribution service; establishing a local food trail; and support local events - from small markets in schools and a food hall at the National Eisteddfod, to the region's major local food events including Mold and Llangollen Food Festivals.
