What is Farming Connect?
Farming Connect is a new innovative service designed to help
farming families improve their farming business. Farming Connect will be a
provider of dynamic service that will be tailored specifically to the needs of
the farming community. |

What will Farming Connect provide? |

Farming Connect will provide farming families with a choice
of services, including |
| |
|
Farm Business Development Plans |
|
The service will review business performance and recommend
the best option for the future. Ways to optimise profitability and alternative
income sources both on and off farm will be considered along with environmental
issues and any training needs.
The Farm Business Development Plans will
be carried out by your choice of business consultants.
Each farm holding
in Wales will be entitled to a Farm Business Development Plan free of charge
providing eligibility criteria are met. |

Training Opportunities |
|
Farming Connect will help to identify and provide access to
training opportunities for farming families. |

|
Capital Grants |
|
Following completion of a Farm Business Development Plan,
you will be able to access a range pf capital grants to assist with investments
on farm. |

|
A Network of Local Demonstration Farms |
|
For dairy, beef, sheep, grassland and organic. These farms
will demonstrate methods of best practice in farming techniques and help to
transfer new technologies and information to farmers. |

|
Technical Advisory Service |
|
Through Farming Connect, farmers will be able to access
speciality advisory service for agriculture, diversification and
forestry. |

Transfer of New Technologies / Information |
|
Farming Connect will ensure that farming families can access
and use new technologies on their own farm holdings. |

Environment / Pollution Control and Advice |
|
Will also be available to you free of charge within Farming
Connect |

Will the service be quality assured? |
|
This is your service, you will have the opportunity to give
feedback either through a free telephone helpline or your facilitator. Regular
meetings will be held with farming unions and the Young Farmers Club. |

What is the long term plan for Farming Connect? |
|
Farming Connect will adapt and change over time to meet
farmers needs. Results from the quality assurance mechanism will be used to
improve the service. |

How can You access the services of Farming
Connect? |
|
There will be a network of Farming Connect facilitators who
will be dedicated to delivering the best possible service to you.
The
facilitator will act as the link between Farming Connect and the farming
community in Wales. They will provide you with local access to services and
will assist you with everyday enquiries. |
