Denbigh Plum Festival

Project Area: Events

One of the key features of the festival was the chance to learn more about the Denbigh Plum and to be inspired to plant the Denbigh Plum tree in your garden.

The event this year was held on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of November. On the Saturday there were expert talks on the history of the Denbigh Plum and how to look after your plum tree through the seasons. Dai Chef took centre stage and educated our palate with an arrangement of plum based cookery demonstrations and Regional Champion of BBC2's Great British Menu, Aled Williams, showed us how to make an amazing plum pudding.

On the Sunday there were walks and nature trails for parents and children age 4 to 16 years old. The walks started from Denbigh Library and finish at Denbigh Castle with a Halloween quiz and chocolates. There was also a guided walk through Denbigh's history taking in the Medieval, Victorian and Georgian buildings of those times.

Many of the local shops joined in on the Plum Activities with window displays.
