Overview
A review of the conservation areas within Flintshire is underway - it is your chance to have your say and get involved!
Flintshire County Council is planning better ways in the future to care for the unique historic and architectural character of Conservation Areas across the county and is looking for the help of local communities.
Over the next few weeks the communities of Caerwys, Cilcain, Glan-yr- Afon, Gwaenysgor, Holywell, Nannerch and Whitford will be invited to attend workshops on issues affecting their conservation areas and to learn more about lime pointing and historic window repair.
This is a pilot scheme focussing initially on conservation areas in the Clwydian range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where local people can have an opportunity to say what matters in their community, how this impacts upon the Conservation Area and help to create a Management Plan to protect it.
The scheme forms part of the innovative and highly successful Traditional Building Skills project that provides local people and businesses in North East Wales with training in the repair of historic buildings using traditional materials and techniques. The project is run by rural development agency Cadwyn Clwyd, in partnership with Northern Marches Cymru, Denbighshire County Council, Flintshire County Council and Wrexham County Borough Council.
