The Clwydian Eco-Farm looks at innovative sustainable pilots which aim at improving the environmental sustainability of local land-based industries. The project promotes the sustainable use of natural resources and the use of renewable energy to exploit new business sectors.

Pilots include:

a) using woodchip as an alternative to straw for animal bedding and looking into different uses for the subsequent waste. In-housed bedding as well as outdoor corrals will be looked at. We are currently setting up trials at Llysfasi and are looking for other farms to take part in the trails.

b) Bracken Management and composting.

c) Composting projects. There is also the potential of creating visitor attractions from these new initiatives. If you are interested in participating in the project please contact us for more details.
